THE Pusan base chapel, I where thousands of fighting men attended Mass and received the sacraments during the past three years. has been reduced to a burnt-out shell by the fire that devastated the port.

The chapel had seemed to be safe and the U.S. Army had turned it into a shelter for about 500 people, mostly children.

But the flames jumped across the wide street and set fire to L h e building adjoining t h chapel.

Maryknoll Sisters are distributing food, medicine and clothing to 500 families every day as well as attending to their usual total of 2,000 patients a day at their clinic.
