THE CLERGY are offered the chance to see industry working at first hand later this month, during a one-day "awareness course" in Manchester, entitled "Priests and Industry".

The meeting is part of Industry Year and will include a number of talks and visits to local factories.

It takes place at St Antony's Centre in Manchester, the only diocesan centre for Church and industry in the country.

St Antony's is in the heart of Europe's largest purpose-built industrial estates, where 600

companies employ 30,000 workers. It is also close to the Manchester Ship Canal and Salford dock area.

Applications to attend the April 24 event should be sent to St Antony's Centre, Eleventh St., Trafford Park, Manchester MI7 1JF (Tel: 061 848 9173). Cost is £5. A f2 non-returnable deposit should be enclosed.
