No segregation in the colony

Visiting Cape Town, Cardinal de Gouveia. Archbishop of Lourcnco Marques, Portuguese East Africa. remarked that there is no racial problem in the territory.

There is no legal separation of races; anyone with the necessary educational and cultural qualifications can rise to the highest positions.

There are many doctors, lawyers. magistrates and other professional men of Indian and African blood from the Portuguese territories practising both in their own countries and in Portugal.
