he direction that the Salve Regina be sung at the end of Benediction during Our Lady's Year, has, in many cases, proved how true it is that "necessity is the mother of invention"! and one can safely assume that in many parishes where the liturgical services of Vespers and Compline have not been carried out, congregations have heard, and after a short time have been able to take part, possibly for the first time, in the singing of Our Lady's anthems.
Would it not he a practical idea to form a custom in such parishes of regularly singing the anthems of Our Lady, "according to the season," at each Sunday evening service?
One other point, if I may: We are nearing "Mission Sunday." Choirs could do very much worse than begin to learn the "Hymn for Foreign Missions," No. 214, New Wegminsier Hymnal. Here is a fine S. Wesley tune rich in melody and singable. Why not introduce it and repeat yearly?
