of the Archbishop of Westminster, and widow of the late Councillor Yv'm. Bernard Griffin, J.P., died on November 1. Mrs. Griffin took a prominent part in public work in the City of Birmingham as a member of the old Board of Guardians and later on in the Public Assistance Committee. She retired a few years ago owing to ill-health. She was in her 80th year.
Solemn Requiem was sung at the Franciscan Church, Birmingham, on Monday, November 6. The Archbishop of Birmingham and Bishop Bright were on the Sanctuary with the Archbishop of Westminster, who officiated at the interment in the adjoining cemetery.
