RETIRED....

BUT NOT HURT

After five years the Secretary to the Circulation Department has had to leave the Catholic Herald for domestic reasons. Now the Catholic Herald is looking for a worthy successor to replace a valuable member of our team.

Good shorthand and typing are the usual qualifications; certainly they are necessary for this position; but that is only a start. Patience, calm, efficiency are needed. The applicant should have the ability to charm even the most irate lay and clerical customers whose supplies may have gone astray, to have the insistence which will discover what the railways or wholesalers have done with the lost parcels. All these requirements are every bit as important as shorthand and typing.

There is certainly no lack of work and if you have initiative it is not stifled—the more the better. A knowledge of geography is an advantage, the Circulation Department is concerned with supplies for all and every part of Britain and Ireland.

Salary by arrangement according to ability but a minimum salary of 113.0.0d. per week is envisaged. Please send details of qualifications, experience and age to: The Managing Director, Catholic Herald, 67, Fleet Street, E.C.4.
