TWO of Britain's best-known retreat givers, Benedictine Fr Ian Petit and Fr Pat Lynch are to engage in a public debate as to the relevance of scripture for today's world. The lecture on Thursday February 6 will be the latest in a series of gatherings organised by the Catholic Herald at the medieval church of St Etheldreda's in central London.
The two priests, both contributors to the Scripture for Living series, published by Darton, Longman and Todd, are also noted writers. Fr Petit's How Can I Pray? and This is My Body have proved among the most popular titles with Catholic Herald readers in our monthly book club.
Fr Lynch, whose Is There a Way Through Suffering? will be published at the time of the
lecture, is a member of the Birmingham based Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism.
